[…]Whenever I observe them, scenes often flash through my mind—of them endlessly shuttling through empty spaces, sometimes in the city, sometimes in mountain fields[…]"
The centerpiece of the exhibition, the Rider series, draws inspiration from the artist’s in-depth cross-continental observation and artistic imagination of delivery riders during a particular period. n late 2022, he was invited to participate in an artist residency program at the By Art Matters Museum, which marked the beginning of this series. Runo B meticulously studied the lives and work routines of riders, documenting their figures through numerous sketches. He further incorporated his signature research and experimentation with minerals, natural gemstone materials, and binding agents into large-scale paintings and works on paper. The exhibition also premieres the artist’s ceramic works, primarily jar-like vessels and clay fragments, extending his contemplation of "containment" and "capacity." These pieces create a dialogue between the surreal narrative of modern riders and future relics. Over the years, to deepen his practice, Runo B traveled to ceramic art hubs such as Luoyang and Jingdezhen in China, as well as Faenza and Nove in Italy, immersing himself in creation and developing a distinctive international perspective.
